Privacy policy
How we collect, use and protect your personal information — and the rights you have under UK law.
Last updated: 20 June 2026
Who we are
3D Make Me ("we", "us") runs this website and is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at prints@3dmake.me or by post at 50A High Street, Brackley, Northamptonshire, NN13 7DS.
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use our site, place an order or contact us, how we use it, and the rights you have under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
What we collect
When you place an order or contact us, we collect the information you give us — typically your name, email address, postal address, phone number and the details of your order or enquiry. If you create an account, we store your account email and a securely hashed password (we never see your password in plain text).
When you pay, your card details are entered directly with our payment provider and are processed by them — we do not see or store your full card number.
We also collect limited technical and usage information automatically, such as your IP address, device and browser type, and the pages you visit, through analytics and security tooling.
How we use your information
We use your information to take and fulfil your orders, arrange delivery, take payment, provide customer support, manage your account, send order-related emails, keep proper business and tax records, and to operate, secure and improve our website.
Our legal bases are: performing our contract with you (to process orders and accounts); our legitimate interests (to run, secure and improve the business and respond to enquiries); your consent (for non-essential analytics cookies); and compliance with legal obligations (such as keeping accounting records).
Who we share it with
We only share personal data with the service providers we need to run the shop, and only for that purpose. These include: Stripe (payment processing); Parcel2Go and the chosen carrier such as Royal Mail (delivery and tracking); our email provider (order and enquiry emails); Vercel and Neon (website hosting, file storage and database); Loqate (address lookup on our forms); and Google Analytics, PostHog and Vercel Analytics (website analytics).
We may also share information where we are legally required to, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We do not sell your personal data.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the site to work (for example to keep items in your basket and to keep you signed in), and analytics tools that help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
You can control or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site, such as checkout, from working properly.
International transfers
Some of our service providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as UK 'adequacy' regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum — so your data remains protected.
How long we keep it
We keep order and transaction records for as long as needed to provide our service and to meet our legal and accounting obligations (HMRC generally requires business records to be kept for six years). Account information is kept while your account is active. Contact-form messages are kept only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to request erasure, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to data portability. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at prints@3dmake.me. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Children
Our products are toys, but our website and checkout are intended to be used by adults. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Please check back occasionally for any changes.
